Amos and Heidi met as 12 year old MKs in the Philippines. They were in the same class up through High School, where they graduated together from Faith Academy, Manila. Amos went back to the U.S. to pursue his A&P and flight training, and Heidi went back to her home country of Australia where she studied languages at college. They reconnected five years later over email, when Amos was already serving with PMA in Yap, and Heidi was teaching ESL in Indonesia. They got married in April 2007 in Washington, and left together for Micronesia four months later. They have been living in Yap ever since. Amos trained under Peter Reichert for 7 years and took over as Director of Aviation when Peter retired. Amos and Heidi were involved in the PMF Church's youth ministry for 6 years until it was turned over to a local leader. Their kids are Tommy, Raina, Honora, Theodore, and Owen. Amos stays busy in his roles as pilot and mechanic, general fix-it man, shopper for the outer islands, and sometimes fill-in preacher. Heidi and her friend Queentina lead the Ladies' Bible Study for the PMF Church. They love living in Micronesia and feel blessed to be a part of what God is doing through PMA here.
PMF Pastor - Yap

Petrus & Queen Haleyalgiy

Both Petrus and wife Queen hail from the outer-islands of Yap, Federated States of Micronesia.

Both Petrus and wife Queen hail from the outer-islands of Yap, Federated States of Micronesia. When he surrendered his life to the Lord, he started reading and studying the Bible and sharing the Good News to others. When a Bible study began in his home, he began to be active in taking leadership. Many came to the study, and as numbers were added – a Sunday worship service was a natural addition to the activities during the week. They first started church at the PMA Airport Terminal and as they outgrew the venue, the church moved to a bigger building.

Petrus and Queen caught the vision to reach their own people for Christ and count it a privilege to share the Word of God and humbled that God has called them to serve full time to grow the young PMF Outer-island church in Yap.

Pray for Petrus and Queen as they continue to minister in Yap with weekly home and hospital visitations, Bible studies, prayer meeting and worship services. They now have a weekly outreach in the island of Ulithi where they disciple men, women and children to be Christ followers.

He then worked both as a pilot and aircraft mechanic in the Sacramento Area. Starting July 2023, Jonathan has been serving with PMA in Micronesia, first on Palau and then on Yap. Norbert & Sylvia Kalau

President, PMA Board of Trustees, CEO, Senior Pastor, PMF Pohnpei, Boat Captain: M/V Sea Haven Medical Ship

Born in Micronesia, Norbert (Nob) Kalau is second of the three children born to Edmund and Elizabeth Kalau. Nob grew up in Yap and one of his favorite activities was fishing. Thinking to be a fisherman when he grew up, Nob did not think he needed further education. However, he did go to boarding school for missionary children in the Philippines, Faith Academy and graduated from high school at Faith Academy in 1977. He graduated from Biola University, B.A. Communications and minor in Biblical Studies. He served as a short term missionary with RBMU in Irian Jaya, and did on-the job training with Christoffel Blindenmission on documentary production and with PMA Germany in partner development. After graduation from College, Nob returned to Pohnpei Micronesia to serve with PMA. He volunteered as Bible Study Leader at the local Community College and assisted national staff with PMA construction projects. He traveled on mission trips with his father to learn more about PMA - its mission, vision, values and how PMA is managed. He later became Captain of PMA's medical ship, M/V Sea Haven, having brought the first Sea Haven all the way from California to Pohnpei, Micronesia. He married Sylvia Kunz and they have three children: Nadya, Chelsea and Alex - all born in Micronesia. In his role as President and CEO of PMA, he oversees and directs the entire ministry from Pohnpei, including PMA Philippines. He pastors the local Pacific Mission Fellowship (PMF) on Pohnpei. His God-given goal is "To know Christ and to make Him known". His passion is that all the islands may hear the Gospel. By God's grace, his childhood dream has become a reality - he is a fisher of men. He has served PMA since 1982.

Sylvia Kunz was born in California of German parentage. Together with her brother and sister, she was raised to know Christ and love Him. She accepted the Lord Jesus at age 11 and at age 13, she knew she wanted to become a registered nurse. Brought together by the hand of God, Sylvia is a faithful helpmate to Nob in many ways: wife, mother, nurse, Bible Study Leader, and Sunday school teacher. She also oversees PMA"s Good News Press and serves in the Field Office. She is also hostess to many who visit PMA from around the world. She has served PMA since 1987.

Ladies’ & Children and Radio Ministry

Sabine Musselwhite

Now involved in the ladies’, children and radio ministry in PMF Pohnpei, supports the office with my IT skills and enjoy the tropical sun and lush flora

Ever since I became a believer I was fascinated about missions and had this ultimate goal on my bucket list. As a single mom of three daughters, that dream seemed rather bold though. In 2005, I came to Pohnpei to visit a youth worker from my home church in Germany and after a month I knew this is the place and the people I would love to spend my golden years in ministry in. So many years later, I am now involved in the ladies’, children and radio ministry in PMF Pohnpei, support the office with my IT skills and enjoy the tropical sun and lush flora growing orchids and hibiscus in my back yard. People ask me when I will retire … well, I can serve the Lord here as long as He is willing to bring me to Pohnpei … there is no age limit in building the Kingdom of God.
Stephen - PMA Pilot Mechanic - Philippines | Monet - Office Administrator

Stephen & Monet Newton

After serving in Palau for 5 years, Stephen and Monet moved to Manila to reopen the Philippine Aviation Operation.

I’m Stephen Newton. I grew up in North Central Washington State in a Christian family with 4 older siblings and one younger. At the age of 16, I gave my life to the Lord. In 2005, I earned my private pilot certificate through the Central Washington University flight program, but it wasn’t until 2011 that I knew I was called to be a missionary pilot. That year, I began the 5 ½ degree through Moody Bible Institute’s aviation program, based in Spokane Washington. This included 1 and ½ years of bible school, 1 and ½ years of aircraft maintenance training and certification, 2 years of pilot training and a total of 8 weeks of internship. I graduated Moody Aviation with the Bachelor of Science in Mission Aviation Technology in 2016 with my A&P license as well as my commercial/instrument pilot license. In January of 2018, I joined PMA where I met my wife, Monet.

Monet Newton grew up in a Christian Family in the Philippines. She is 2nd to the eldest among 4 sisters. Monet gave her life to the Lord at a church retreat when she was 14.
She served at her local church as a finance person and is also involved in the Children’s Ministry and Praise & Worship Team. She graduated with a BS in Accountancy in 2015 and was accepted by PMA November 2017 helping with finances as an accountant. We were married in the Republic of Palau in 2021 and have currently served together both in Palau for 5 years and continuing to serve in the Philippines where we were reassigned in July 2023.
