I was raised in a Christian family in Manila. At the age of three I was attending Sunday school and can’t even remember a single Sunday that I missed. I was also very active participating in church camps during summer vacation and was involved in our church choir. Despite all this activity, I did not have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

As a teen I got involved with the wrong friends and began drinking and partying. No longer wanting to pursue my studies, I dropped out of school. My mind was messed up and confused. Finally after 4 years of this mess, I felt extremely lonely and empty. I thought, “Is this the life I really want? A life without any future?” What I didn’t realize was that the Lord was right there all along watching, waiting and caring for me.

I cried out to God and sought His presence and His forgiveness. Then a call came from my uncle offering me to study at a Christian School in Bulacan. I studied Computer IT and was able to find work, but was not satisfied with it. I prayed and asked God to show me His plan for my life. I returned to Patnanungan, my hometown.

Upon arrival in Patnanungan the first thing on my mind was to attend PMF Church. Mercy Sulad was the only PMA missionary at the time and she was teaching and mentoring those who would like to lead the church. She asked me if I could be involved in the music ministry. I said “yes” immediately.

As I fully submitted my life to Jesus, I got to know Him more. And now, by God’s grace, I am able to preach God’s Word and be part of the core leaders of the PMF Church as well as serving as an elder. God is so good, He has provided loving, wonderful brothers and sisters in Christ, and a God-fearing lifetime partner. My wife Fretzel and I continue to serve God with all our hearts, mind and soul that we may please our Lord Jesus in our daily lives. We are surely happy to fix our eyes only on our Lord Jesus, forgetting the past and focusing on what lies ahead in Jesus’ name. (Phil. 3:13)
